Panic!

finally. after a long wait. joel says: "we do take it all next Sunday". but of course, he has a back door: "if we screw up then we don't do". but oh wells. its nice seeing him do a new song. especially since we have already given up asking him to do it. then he suddenly does it. the moral of the story? ask once or twice, and then don't ask. then it will be given to you. haha.

look at us asking to do a new song for practically a decade* or so and then when we give up, he agrees. haha. but its worth the wait. but then again.

*major exaggaration

is it necessarily good? wait. think about it. what, really, is our motive for asking him to do the song? this just brings me back to Joel (seet)'s birthday party, back to the time that our band was having problems. at his party, i was really near blowing my top at joel (ng). why? i really don't know. until now, i don't know. but what struck me was this. Ben Ng asking me what was the problem. i didn't know, but he asked if it was because of the songs. and if not doing a new song would make worship less meaningful or something of the likes. no. it is not. that was not the problem. now that i think back. i see where the problem lies. with me. the band. inexprienced. after playing for andrew, for jon, for dwong, for michelle. and now, for Joel Ng. i had already set the standard in me, of what an experienced, of what an ideal band should be. and playing with an inexperienced band, such as band C, i just couldn't stand the practices. carried out in such a messy way. no doubt we did not respect the worship leader. after all, he was around our age. not commanding too much respect. also, the way the songs were carried out. the problem would be, again the worship leader. how many times i had said to have a short intro before the song. but no. no. no intro. until one day jon ng says to have an intro. then, yes. yes. an intro. what is this? why listen to jon ng and not to me? because he is older? more experienced.

but this post is not made to critisise the band, or joel. don't get me wrong. what i am trying to say is that. i am blessed. i do not regret joining this band. screw the inexperience, screw it. i enjoy my time in this band, i enjoy fellowshiping, and there is no other band i would rather be in, although it does not actually mean that this band = better worship. every band, i feel, is equal. we are equal. equal to Hillsong, to Planet Shakers. whatever. no. not equal in skill. we are far from them. but instead, equal in our hunger and thirst for God, equal in our wanting to worship His Holy Hame, and equal in our bringing people to worship Him.

so now. is it important to do a specific song. well. my answer. no. any song can bring millions of people to Christ. be it a 1000 year old song, or "take it all". if a 1000 year old song can bring a 1000 people to Christ, and Take it All can bring a hundred. well. i'll do both. what i am trying to say is that. the song doesn't matter. its the heart of worship. its the heart that God looks for, not what song you sing, or how well you sing.

so have a heart that longs and thirsts for Him. be a man, or a woman, after God's own heart.

blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled!
